Peony ‘Sarah Bernhardt’ Bare Root

$35.00

Sarah Bernhardt is one of the most widely grown peonies, known for its large, fully double blooms in soft rose-pink with lighter, almost silvery edges. Petals are densely layered and lightly ruffled, giving each flower a full, rounded form that reads lush but controlled.

Introduced in 1906, this variety has remained a standard for cutting gardens and perennial borders. Flowers are fragrant and long-lasting, with strong stems that carry heavy blooms above deep green foliage.

A consistent performer that builds presence over time, returning each year with increased volume and structure.

What you’ll receive:

(1) Sarah Bernhardt peony bare root (3–5 eye division), ready for planting

Plant details:

Bloom size: 6–8” fully double flowers
Color: Soft rose-pink with lighter edges and occasional deeper flecking
Height: 30–36”

Bloom season: Late spring to early summer

Quick planting tips:

Shipping & Seasonal Fulfillment

Orris ships bulbs according to the natural planting season for your climate. Orders are timed so your bulbs arrive when planting conditions are right in your region.

All preorders ship first. Once seasonal preorders are fulfilled, in-stock items typically ship within 7–10 business days.

Because bulbs are living materials, exact dates may shift slightly depending on harvest timing and availability. For our full Purchase & Returns policy, please view it here.

Spring Shipping

Spring-planted bulbs ship when soil temperatures allow for successful planting. Shipments move north as the season progresses.
